Mission

Preservation: To preserve women's fertility and reproductive health by creating international awareness of Intrauterine Adhesions (Asherman's Syndrome), an acquired condition which can cause infertility that is characterized by the formation of adhesions (scar tissue) inside the uterus.  The International Asherman's Association will facilitate education, support and research for: women who are currently affected by Asherman's Syndrome as well as those who are not; educational facilities responsible for training our medical professionals; and current medical practitioners.

Prevention: To change the standard of care in the medical fraternity by fostering research and education of health care professionals and medical practitioners in the prevention techniques of Intrauterine Adhesions (Asherman's Syndrome).  These techniques range from medical management of miscarriages and retained products of conception to ensuring surgical techniques employed in uterine surgery are correctly performed. This will prevent the majority of cases for this iatrogenic condition and in doing so preventing resultant infertility, miscarriages, premature or still births.

Persevere: To persevere in helping those women who acquire Intrauterine Adhesions (Asherman's Syndrome) by offering support, education and medical advice on how to best treat this acquired condition and restore their fertility.
