My severe Ashermans resulted from a traumatic c-section birth after a non-eventful pregnancy. The pain of being told I'd been made sterile as I simultaneously experienced the depth of love and joy of motherhood was overwhelming. There was space in my heart and in my home for a second child, so we adopted Kristen from South Korea. She is a smart, generous, happy person that I am privileged to parent. We love her. It also helps me to know that I turned my pain into something good. Her life would have been hard in Korea but she is blossoming with us.
