I had my second "missed" miscarriage in june of this year and a d&c followed since then i had no periods but SEVERE abdominal pain every month when i should have been having my period, following an abdominal scan i have just been told by my g.p that i most likely have Ashermans (he has refered me for confirmation),though from what i have read on this website i am 100% that the diagnosis is correct.
My g.p on receiving the scan report didnt know what Ashermans syndrome was!!, so i came home and got onto the internet wher i found this excellent site which told me everything that i needed to know (apart from will i continue to have these agonising pains every month), thankyou so much.

Ashermans has been part of my life for 14 years, and believe it or not, the
absence of a monthly cycle does becomes another way of life. However, if
children are wanted then professional help is probably the right way to go.
I myself am blessed with two beautiful children and although my body does
not function (the so called natural way) I do ovulate and I am and feel
every bit a woman.

I think for all who have viewed this site, we share a similar story and lots
of sadness and fears that were waiting to surface.

Thanks for helping Asherman sufferer's understand real nightmare's and to
see forth an enlightened path of faith once again.

Best Regards

M. McLaurin-Smith

I cannot tell you how thankful I am to have stumbled upon your website.  I am going through a very scary and emotional time right  now in  that I’m trying to conceive my first child and have had complications due to adhesions following gynecological surgery. I’ve  had three surgeries (one laparotomy/myeomectomy and two laparoscopics for the removal of the dreaded scar tissue..  Without going into my entire long story I am desperately looking for a specialist with experience with ashermans and uterine adhesions.  I live in the Youngstown area (near Cleveland and/or Pittsburgh).  No one can seem to give me any direction.  As for your website, it gave me so much hope. It was so comforting to know there are other gals out there with the same problems. How wonderful it was to read their stories. I felt like I knew them!  I would LOVE to be a part of your group. Thank you to whoever developed this web site..  You truly don’t know what you did for me.  I would greatly appreciate any direction anyone can give me, especially regarding a specialist.

 Hi,

My name is Cherie and I was diagnosed today with Ashermans Syndrome and feeling a little overwhelmed.  I had my beautiful baby girl in April 2002 and bled for 8 weeks until I had the D&C.  I breast fed my daughter until November then I was put on birth control pills and never started my period.  I went through the HSG which was unsuccessful because he couldn't get in the opening of my uterus.  Today I saw a reproductive endocrinologist and he performed a sonohystogram.  I will be having the hysteroscopy in the next few weeks.  Any way, I just wanted to tell you that I found your web site VERY informative and I thank you.

    Thanks for listening,

For ten years now I have had various subtle uterine occurrences. It was not until recently that I have a name

for what has been happening. Each year it has been something and each year it has gotten a little more

painful.  I have not had a cycle for over a year and when

my doctor tried to do the hysterosalpingogram (?) we had no luck of the catheter entering the uterus at all.  Until finding this particular website I did not fully understand what was happening. I found the website to be quite helpful and it made me feel alot better about my decision to have a hysterectomy.

Thank you for your informative and well-done web site. The personal stories really helped me to see that my own situation is not hopeless and that there is hope. My husband and I had primary infertility and were finally able to conceive a child after administration of a year of pills and finally, one course of injectibles. Our son was born in 1999.

We decided to wait and enjoy him for a awhile. When we finally tried to conceive again, I was diagnosed with Asherman's and am facing surgery. Yuck!

Anyway, thanks for the info. It has been a great help!

Thanks, this website is just great. Finally, some information about Asherman. It’s been of great help to read about other women with Asherman.

Thank-you!!
I delivered my son in January 2000 by emergency c-section.  The most awful experience of my life to say the least! I was in the hospital for a week because of a fever--which noone could explain.  I have not yet had a period since march of 1999.   Reasons were:  still breastfeeding......your body is concentrating on fighting chrons disease....prolactinoma....the list goes on.  I've taken so many birth control pills, hormones, blood tests, MRI's, seen an endocrinologist who told me "Just because you dont get your period, doesnt mean your not a woman."   My thought was--I've given birth to 2 children--of course i am a woman!! I just went to a new doctor yesterday and she is sending me for a pelvic untrasound and a hysterosalpingography.  She mentioned Ashermans and of course i needed more info so here i am.   The stories helped me understand things much better and i am certain this is my problem.  This explains the fever i could not get rid of after birth.  We will see after the tes!
ts, but thank you for this site.  I was hoping someone could give me the name of a docotor who specializes in this.  I live in northern Illinois.  Hope you could help me!!
Brenda

I am happy to see that someone embarked on this condition.

When I was diagnosed in 1995 there was no information on the web. I think the
only thing that came up on a search was Arther Ashe the tennis player back
then.  It wasn't even heard of or discussed.

I hope the physicians will give studies of the long term affects, if any,
that happen to women with this condition to determine if there are any
further problems that can result later in life.

My name is Abbey and I just found out yesterday that I might be suffering

from Ashermans syndrome.  I had a miscarriage in January of this year.  At

that time I had a D/C performed.  After many months of complaints, I finally

switched doctors.  I had lost all hope of ever having a baby until I saw your

web site.  I just wanted to say thank you all for sharing your stories and

giving me some kind of hope that I might be able to beat this!
